1. How can you use Digg to collect research for your next report or design project?
Find an article, digg it, and create a history. Customize the article you want to see.
2. How can you use Digg to establish your reputation and credibility?
By choosing articles and recommending them or burying them. Activly participate and do it a lot. Also build a network so that you can do this on an even larger scale.
3. How can you connect your other social media circles to Digg and increase your popularity?
By creating a profile and adding links to you Facebook or Myspace page. Give your opinions about articles. Add your friends and communicate.
4. Reddit is using Twitter. Discuss what combining the experience means to you in terms of saving your oh so "precious time"?
This helps refine and find the exact things that you are looking for. It allows an even more substantial network to share information to your specific interest.
5. How can you ensure that information on an open source website like Reddit is credible?
You can't, not really. You can click the links to who posted articles and in essence work your way backwards, but unless you do a lot of footwork" yourself you have to either trust or not trust. It is the same for the old fashioned methods of reporting it is just that there are more established checks and balances in place.

Dig deeper into these social media sites by creating an account in one or more of them. Each site offers suites of tools that allow you to comment, chat, create your own news column, and more. Having an account lets you be a participatory member of that community.1. Create the account(s) and explore the tools.2.
